PBT
The PBT is a device for space maintenance which is used in cases of congenitally missing teeth or extraction of deciduous or permanent teeth. It consists of a prefabricated metal band with a metallic extension housing the base for a hinged acrylic tooth restoration.
Advantages of the device compared to other fixed space maintainers:
- Space maintenance of the missing tooth area in all dimensions thus providing an aesthetically appealing solution.
- Occlusal restoration with the antagonists.
- Ease of control for the doctor of the area the restoration covers, due to the semi-fixed nature of the device. (English)
